Kathina Ceremony

  • Jetavana, Temple Forest Monastery Derbyshire Lane Temple, NH, 03084 United States (map)

Kathina Ceremony: 10:15 a.m.–3 p.m., Sunday, October 8

The first Kathina offering in the monastery’s history is scheduled to take place on October 8. This will replace the usual annual “Pa Bah”, and is similar in nature, both being “Offering Ceremonies” where the lay community comes to gather to support the monastery at the end of the three-month summer Rains Retreat.

Luang Por Pasanno, Ajahn Sona, and Ajahn Sudanto – the abbots of Abhayagiri, Birken Forest Monastery, and Pacific Hermitage respectively – will join us for the event, as well as a number of international supporters. A group from Thailand plan to join with our local community to offer robe cloth, requisites, and funds for the monastery in the traditional way, and invite you to join them. It should be a great day, with a Dhamma Talk and opportunities to welcome and meet the visiting abbots, so do please join us for the whole or any part of the day.

Earlier Event: October 7
Dhamma Talk after Evening Puja
Later Event: October 13
Moon Day (Optional Midnight Sitting)
